Board Roles for 2017 Year:
President - preside at all meetings, act as a liaison to the Glenwood Springs Chamber, may sign contracts and other docs with one other duly-authorized officer.
Vice-President – Point-person for all committees, keep RFYP members reasonably informed, make sure notices are given in accordance with bylaws and as required by law, be a custodian of corporate records, acts as president in their absence.
Membership Chair/Secretary - keep minutes of meetings, keep a membership book containing the names/contact info all active RFYP members, recruitment of members, marketing the RFYP organization and events.
Treasurer - have charge and be responsible for all funds and securities of the RFYP organization, receive and give receipts for money due and payable from RFYP, deposit all money, maintain financial statements and create a budget each year (not listed but I would think this is part of it?)
Marketing Co-Chairs (2)
Promote events through various channels, manage Facebook events/messages, monthly e-newsletters, take pictures at events to keep social media and website updated with fresh content, update the website with the upcoming event descriptions.
Event Chair
Organize/Help plan all events and social functions for the RFYP organization. At events: makes sure the event kit with RFYP banner gets to each event, sign in attendees and events, take payments; sign up members, explain membership advantages, take email for email sign ups. Coordinate with marketing for promotion of events planned.
Board Members at Large (2)
Serve on at least one committee, liaison to the various chambers and other organizations, general recruitment of members and ambassador in the community.
*Note: An active member can run for any of the roles except president (president requires at least one year on the board)
2017 Committees
Strawberry Days Committee
Recruit volunteers, attend meetings with the chamber, manage sign up list, ensure there is a board member at each shift (or manager), follow up a few weeks out and the week of with time, have back up volunteers as needed, bring YP banner and be the main contact for the biggest fundraiser of the year for YP
Cruise-A-Thong Subcommittee
Reports to RFYP board each month and meets separate to plan the event (all laid out from previous organizers)
Scholarship Committee
Once a year puts the application requirements together, gets info to high school counselors, RFYP email list, facebook, etc. Reviews applications, scores these and awards the scholarships as determined by the entire board and budget
Legacy Committee
Reach out to previous board members and general members for knowledge, experience, updates on current efforts of the organization and in general keep this connection over the years.
